Narrative

Referrals mostly come from the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).

Meadows Homes provides residential support to seventy-nine adults with Intellectual Disabilities (ID). Funding is provided through DDS of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Meadows Homes operates twenty-three separate homes. They are in ten different communities in the Greater Springfield area. Seventy-four people are provided with twenty-four hour support, four live independently with a minor amount of support and one lives with a family in their home. This last program model, Shared Living , is targeted for substantial expansion in the next few years.

For adults with ID. Homes are in nice neighborhoods with private rooms for housemembers. They are able to live in a normal community setting. They get help with those things they cannot do for themselves. Must be employable or in a day program.

Fees: House members pay part of room & board. Has contract with HUD.  We give support services to adults with developmental disabilties (DD). We also set up for and give housing supports up to 24 hours a day to 7 hours a week. Support depends on needs seen.
