Narrative

With the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services and MassAbility, Eliot runs eight group homes. Each serving four to six adults with 24/7 staffing and services including:

  • Activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Language and communication skills
  • Socials skills and relationship building
  • Development of leisure skills, including planning for and going on vacation.

Eliot staff members are trained to serve as role models and coaches. We help the person in taking steps to:

  • build skills
  • develop self-esteem
  • improve overall functioning
  • be as independent as possible in their lives

People are encouraged to join in the community to their fullest ability. We make an effort to connect people to their overall life goals.  The homes have a family-like feeling. They are adapted to meet the unique needs and likes of those who live in the home.

Residential and Independent Support Services are licensed through the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and the MassAbility Statewide Head Injury Program (SHIP).
