Narrative
A federal funded program which helps eligible households in meeting the cost of winter heating. The program assists eligible households to pay their heating bills during the winter season or until benefits are exhausted. Clients receive various discounts such as electric, gas and oil discounts.
Applicants found eligible for the fuel assistance program are also eligible to receive weatherization and heating system replacement and repair. Eligibility is based upon annual gross income and household size. Income guidelines used are established by the federal government.
