Narrative

The Venture Shared Living program focuses on giving people with developmental disabilities (DD) a fitting home space to enrich their lives.  Providers welcome an adult with a disability into their homes, lives and families.  The final goal is for the person and provider to build a mutually supportive relationship.

 Shared Living Caregiver Guidelines

* Give the person with a safe, clean, and comfortable home

* Help with and set-up the person's medical and dental appointments

* Ensure that doctor's recommendations are being fulfilled

* Help with learning daily living skills

* Develop a relationship with member based upon mutual respect

* Possess a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle

* Foster community involvement, social development, and positive relationship building

* Ensure the overall wellbeing of the person. Welcome them into the family unit

 Respite care and professional training are provided as well as a tax free annual payment.
