Narrative

Mainstay staff help people maintain independent living. We help with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL). Among the services available are:

• helping the person in complying with health care provider instructions
• getting medical care from doctor or emergency room if they should become ill
• reminders to take medication
• help with laundry
• supervision and help with activities of daily living (such as bathing, dressing and toileting)
• cleaning and general housekeeping
• help with shopping
• provision of, or setting up transportation

Our program provides people and their families with the assurance that they will receive the personal care and attention they need. We give the guidance and support to promote well-being by supporting their physical and emotional health.

Using its own Private Pay Plan, Mainstay home care in MA provides home care services to people who may not qualify for other care programs such as Adult Family Care (AFC), Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC) or others. They still want some level of supportive services while living independently in their own homes or apartments. The range of services, provided by experienced Mainstay staff team members, is flexible. It is geared to meet the specific needs and schedule of the person, couple or group.

Working collaboratively, Mainstay’s team of Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Certified Nursing

Assistants, Resident Specialists and Home Health Aides come together to deliver a coordinated and varied menu of home based services to seniors and those with disabilities. Among the home based services available are:

• Case management
• Consultation with medical professionals
• Help with daily personal care
• Meal prep as well as help with shopping
• Going along to medical appointments
• In-home overnight supervision/respite
• Community respite
• Help with laundry
• Cleaning and general housekeeping
• Help with grocery or other personal shopping
